Find Out The Status Of Your Immigration Consultant Through ICCRC

1904

New immigrants who look to move to Canada face a tough time processing all documentation on their own. There is a lot of documentation involved – and it’s easy to make mistakes. Did you know, for instance, that CIC does not accept joint accounts as proof of funds unless it’s with your spouse or partner?

Seeking assistance from an immigration consultant is a wise choice. Not only does it save time, but the immigration process becomes smoother. They go over all your paperwork, fill and send it on your behalf.

However, many such consultants and agencies only claim to help. They pose as a genuine immigration consultant at the start, only to scam clients later.

ICCRC Member Check Process

So, how do you know whether you are approaching an authorized immigration consultant? Worry not, as there is a way to know the status of your immigration consultant.

The ICCRC or the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council contains members who actively participate as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC). ICCRC’s mandate is to protect immigration service consumers through effective regulation of citizenship and immigration consultants.

Consultants registered in the ICCRC membership list are authorized representatives and may represent a client before Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

RCIC registered consultants are preferred the most because they:

1) Simplify the process
2) Keep your information confidential
3) Possess ample knowledge about the immigration procedure
4) Leave no room for rejection of your profile.

Follow the steps below to know about the status of your immigration consultant quickly:

Step 1: Visit the ‘Find a professional’ page on the ICCRC website.

Step 2: Scroll down to the ‘Public Register’. You can either search for RCIC through their last name by selecting an alphabet or perform an advanced search. Enter the relevant details mentioned in the advanced search column, such as last name, first name, company name, location, and more.

Step 3: Click on the search button and view the search result. You can see the name, status, contact details and consultant identification on the screen.

In this manner, you can check if your immigration consultant is legitimate or a fraud agent.
